Estes Park High School acknowledges the arts—poetry, movement, drama, visual arts, music, and creative writing—are a powerful tool for personal expression, higher learning, creating culture, and strengthening community. In showcasing the artistic efforts of the Estes Park High School student body, SOLACE is committed to fostering a lifelong love of the arts in a culturally diverse, academically challenging environment.
SOLACE was established by students in 2000 as a literary arts magazine. In 2001, the magazine expanded to include visual arts and was published annually until 2004. A 5thedition was published in 2008. The 6th and final edition was published in 2010.SOLACEwas restructured in 2019 as an open forum to support the artistic efforts of the student body and will be maintained by the Estes Park High School Publications Staff.
SOLACE accepts submissions of all artistic mediums, genres and formats. Submissions must adhere to the Colorado Student Free Expression Act (Colo. Rev. Stat. 22-1-120) and Estes Park R-3 School District Publications Guidelines.
